We cannot build a peaceful world on the misery of an empty stomach. Malnourishment amongst children is an enduring enigma plaguing the entire world today. World Bank data indicates that India has the world’s highest demographics of children suffering from malnutrition. Said to be double that of Sub-Saharan Africa with dire consequences. 44% of children under 5 are underweight, while 72% of infants have anemia. India needs a lot more to be done to tackle the menace of malnutrition and NGOs are plugging the gaps in the Government schemes. One of the major detriments of malnourishment from many is improper development of the brain and mental faculties resulting in poor performance in schools translating into lower employability. Support ‘Sattva” today to render your small but crucial contribution in giving a healthy start to Indian children.
Samvedana has partnered with ICDS and adopted 76 Anganwadi in Ahmedabad through project ‘Sattva’. Sattva is our commitment to over 5000 beneficiaries, most of them from slums or low-income areas. This challenging yet grassroots level connection with women and children is towards improving the infant mortality rate. This makes us a partner in nation-building towards a higher Social Progress Index (SPI).
Our objective with Sattva is to foster an active and responsible partnership with government projects to support the welfare of children and women through nourished living. By providing the right aid to curb malnourishment we envision partnering in nation-building and collectively working towards a higher Social Progress Index (SPI) of our nation.
